2018 Ducati Scrambler India launch could happen as the brand in the country is making sure it gets volumes and Scrambler continues to help
Back in 2014, Ducati had unveiled the Scrambler worldwide and since then it has been a hit. Now Ducati has announced it’s plans for the many updates which they will equip on the entry level Scrambler Icon 2019 model.
The new updates will help improve the overall refinement and also improve the safety on the bike. As of now, the confirmation of these updates are only known for the basic icon model, but it will be a surprise if these updates wont make its way on the other 803cc powered Scramblers.
Aesthetically, retro styling remains the same, there aren’t any major changes to it. Due to its retro styling it has made the Scrambler the best selling naked street bike worldwide. According to the new updates, the 2019 Scrambler Icon model will come equipped with a pair of new 10-spoke alloy wheels which are seen on the Scrambler 1100, the headlight unit features an LED ring in it which acts like the Daytime Running Light. In addition to this, it will host LED indicators and a new fully digital instrument cluster which features a fuel gauge and a gear indicator as well.
Talking about the styling, the cylinders heads are now blacked out, the exhaust system is redesigned and it will also come with a new paint scheme- Tangerine Orange. To increase ride comfort the suspension unit is tweaked and so is the saddle.
In comparison with the previous models, the 2019 model gets technology upgrades which include cornering ABS from Bosch as standard and it also gets the Bluetooth connected Ducati Media System which is seen on the Multistrada. The Ducati Media System helps to connect upto four Bluetooth devices such as intercom systems, sat-nav and smartphones simultaneously.
The 2019 Scrambler icon will get the same wide handlebar, also there won’t be any mechanical changes. It will be powered with the same two-cylinder, 803cc, petrol engine producing 73 bhp of power and 67Nm of twist.
Ducati will be launching the 2019 Scrambler Icon worldwide somewhere around the month of November. Till then stay tuned to ThrustZone to know more about the launch of the 2019 Scrambler Icon.
