2020 Mahindra Scorpio & XUV500 BS6 Specifications are out on the website. The specifications have been updated on the company’s website and we also have a look at the new variant range that’s being offered on either model. Prices for the BS6 Mahindra Scorpio and the Mahindra XUV500 have not been revealed for now, and we expect the automaker to make an announcement regarding the same when the lockdown has been lifted.

Starting with the Mahindra Scorpio BS6, the SUV is now being offered in four variants that include S5, S7, S9 and S11. The automatic and All-Wheel Drive versions have been discontinued on the model. Power comes from the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that is now available in a single state of tune. The 120PS version has been discontinued with the base S3 trim and the motor will be offered only in the 140PS and 320Nm peak torque version. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox on the S5 trim, while the rest of the variants get a 6-speed manual.

The Mahindra Scorpio BS6 does not get any changes to the design or features and continues with the same list of bells and whistles. The SUV comes with projector lens headlamps, LED taillights, a touchscreen infotainment system, auto climate control, cruise control and more.

Meanwhile, the BS6 XUV500is being offered in four variants including W5, W7, W9 and W11 (O). The automaker has discontinued the All-Wheel Drive version on the SUV. Power though continues to come from the same 2.2-litre mHawk155 diesel engine that gets an electronically controlled variable geometry turbocharger (eVGT). There is no drop in terms of power output and the motor belts out 155PS and 360Nm of peak torque that available at 1750rpm.

Scorpio-Facelift

Mahindra has retained the transmission options including the 6-speed manual and the 6-speed automatic. The automatic variant is now available right from the W7 trim that will make it more cost-friendly for buyers. Both, the Mahindra Scorpio and the XUV500 get a catalytic reduction system and an aftermarket exhaust treatment unit, while there’s a new Urea tank with a diesel particulate filter (DPF) added to the fuel tank to further reduce CO2 emissions.

Mahindra Scorpio Interior Hybrid

Cosmetically, nothing changes on the Mahindra XUV500 and the model continues to get the chrome grille, daytime running lights, cornering lamps and LED taillights. The SUV was updated in 2018 with a plusher styling. With respect to features, the XUV500 gets Mahindra’s BlueSense app, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth telephony and more. With the base variants discontinued, expect the XUV500 BS6 to start from a slightly higher price tag, with more loaded variants on offer.
