Rumor mills are running full swing to suggest that Japanese bike maker Honda is working full-throttle on its V4 platform. This means we could possibly witness the arrival of Honda RVF1000R and if that happens, the new machine will be pitted against Ducati Panigale V4 S.
According to renderings available on the internet, RVF1000R features a very contemporary design. The bike looks magnificent in its flesh and its aerodynamic styling definitely adds to its appeal. The material used on the rendering of the bike is carbon fibre which will help it to have nimble footings on the road. A suspension system is a premium unit from Ohlins while the stopping power is provided by the Brembo callipers and carbon disc brakes.
If Honda decides to bring RVF1000R into the market, the output of the bike should be at least more than 200 hp so that it can effectively compete against Ducati which churns out 234 hp. In addition, Honda also needs to make sure that RVF1000R gets the latest generation of electronics and sensors including cornering ABS, traction control system, flight control system, electronic engine braking, wheelie control, and different riding modes to accommodate variable road conditions.
It was last in 2015 when Honda had a V4 bike in its portfolio in the form of the RC213V-S. The bike got powered by a V4 engine which was capable of putting out 159bhp although the figure could be increased to 215 hp with the help of racing components. The machine lagged in terms of having the seamless gearbox and its exaggerated price tag further dampened its appeal. In future, we will definitely like to see another V4 machine from the house of Honda but for now, there is no official announcement from the company whether it is really coming up with RVF1000R or not.
