Hyundai has finally given out the name for the Xcent successor that has been spied on various occasions- the Hyundai Aura. Other than its name, Hyundai hasn’t made any other information public. The all-new Hyundai Aura boasts a better contour compared to the ongoing Xcent.

Moving ahead, the Aura’s front fascia replicate Hyundai’s signature cascading grille with a honeycomb mesh finish and will have some styling cues inspired from the facelifted Elantra. The Aura shares Grand i10 Nios boomerang-shaped LED DRLs and for the rear end, the license plate housing has been moved from the boot lid to the bumper. Below the LED taillights are the LED strips and all of this summarised is probably pushing the Hyundai Aura to be the most cosmetically approaching sedan in the market.

The odds of Hyundai Aura’s interior being similar to that of Grand i10 Nios are pretty high and we can assume the presence of an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Alongside the aforementioned elements, Hyundai is likely to offer wireless smartphone charging for a higher-spec model. Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity has been missing on the Grand i10 Nios, so it is not sure for the Aura either. To keep things a bit livelier, the Hyundai Aura interior will offer different colours for the upholstery with a rear-seat armrest and adjustable headrests.

Mechanically, the Hyundai Aura gets a BS6 compliant engine, but it is getting the 1.2-litre Kappa engine for the petrol variant and a U2 1.2-litre motor for the Diesel motor. Transmission options will be a manual gearbox and an AMT. The new introduction in the sedan is the 1.0 turbo petrol with a manual gearbox only. No automatic like the Venue. Hyundai plans to keep the ongoing Xcent alive for the fleet operators while the Hyundai Aura takes care of the competition against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Ford Aspire and the Tata Tigor.
