KTM Duke 390 Adventure Spied Testing For The First Time reveals that it is going much more purposeful than its competition
KTM is making sure it gives the world the adventure motorcycle that it is craving for in the lower capacity segment. The rest of the world gets an entry-level model which is around the 800cc mark, while Asian countries will get the most talked about KTM Duke 390 adventure. The Duke 390 has been spied for the first time and it looks purposeful and true tradition of KTM it is going to be an much dedicated motorcycle to its purpose. Something that we have been waiting for. We have details of the same and what we can expect from this adventure entry-level motorcycle that has a lot of hopes carrying on its back.
Duke 390 Adventure Design and Dimensions
The design isn’t anything that we have seen earlier with the motorcycle launch at 2017 EICMA. Street-fighter design and this adventure design is completely different unlike its rival which have bolt on fairing and large windscreen. Dimensions are likely to change by a big margin. The front has twin pod headlights and the exhaust is sticking out in true adventure form. This could be the Enduro version which has spoke wheels. We could see adventure with flexible alloy wheels as well.
Duke 390 Adventure Chassis, suspension and brakes
The suspension seems the same as before, but the ride height has been raised. Brakes are now petal units in true KTM off-road motorcycle tradition. The wheels are mostly bigger than normal. 19-inch front and 17-inch rear are most likely to be here in this shot. Monoshock from the existing bikes can be seen here.
Duke 390 Adventure Price and Launch
Launch in India will be set for 2018 here in India. Worldwide launch could happen in late 2017. Expect a asking price of Rs. 2.5 lakhs in India.
Duke 390 Adventure Engine And Specification
The engine will be the new unit that has been on the 2017 models. No reports on how the new engine will be yet but we can say that the motorcycle will get around 40 BHP and 30 Nm of torque. Retuned gear ratios and power band thanks to new ignition timing and camshaft position will help it deliver even more power immediately and smoothly.
Duke 390 Adventure Safety and Features
Expect ABS to come as standard along with Auto Headlamp on. The motorcycle can come with segment first cornering ABS. Rear ABS can most likely be switched of for more fun.
