Volkswagen announced the launch of its door-to-door service experience, Volkswagen Assistance in India today. Aimed at enhancing customer’s experience, the program will offer doorstep services that will include small on-site repairs, breakdown assistance and service jobs.
To enable Volkswagen Assistance, company has introduced a fleet of service vehicles, which are equipped to offer immediate services to customers. The Assistance vehicle will provide services to customers within a 25 km catchment area of select Volkswagen service center across India. The Volkswagen Assistance program offers customers peace of mind and basic maintenance services without having the hassle to visit a workshop.
Commenting on this announcement, Mr. Steffen Knapp, Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, “At Volkswagen, we are constantly working towards enhancing our customer experience through various programs. We aim to offer a holistic purchase experience with a special focus on after-sales service initiatives. Volkswagen’s Assistance is our unique program that is specifically curated for customers with a fast paced life, technologically savvy and prefer convenience at their door-step.”
Initially, Volkswagen Assistance program will be available at 60 select dealerships across 45 cities of the Volkswagen service network in India. Through the doorstep service, Volkswagen will be able to reach a wider network of customers and enable a faster resolution to their basic service needs.

Reminder of these engines on offer with Polo, Ameo and Vento: There is a new 999cc three-cylinder petrol engine is good for 76hp of power at 6,200 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 3,000-4,300 rpm. While power has gone up 1 bhp in comparison to the older unit, the torque is lower by around 15 Nm. However in the 1-litre configuration, the torque kicks in earlier which hints at enhanced drivability of the motor. What’s even better is the fuel efficiency figure, which at 18.78 kmpl is higher than the 16.47 kmpl of the previous unit.
The 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine is capable of producing 90 bhp and peak torque of 230 Nm. The transmission duties are carried out by a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox on both the trims. Along with this petrol variant the other variants on offer are the petrol GT TSI making 105 BHP and 175 Nm of torque, the GT TDI making 110 BHP and 250 Nm of torque and the diesel powered versions.
