Hyundai Elantra Facelift To Launch in India By Mid 2019 and will take on the likes of the facelifted Skoda Octavia
Hyundai in India is all set to introduce a slew of facelifts in the country. It started with the Grand i10, Elite i20, Xcent and now its time for the bigger cars. We reported that the Tuscon is all set to get a facelift and now Elantra also falls in that bracket. The cars have been spotted completely launch ready in other countries and since they are being made in India for most countries and India itself, the launch isn’t extremely far away. We can expect the launch to happen this Diwali or early next year for the Elantra. Let’s discuss the changes.
Aesthetically, at the front, the upcoming Hyundai Elantra Facelift gets Hyundai’s new signature cascading grille in comparison with its predecessor’s angular hexagonal grille. Also, the headlamps will be offered some tweaks and will also get the LED Daytime Running Lights and the projector headlight unit. In addition to this, the front turn indicators will be located at the bumper just like the 2018 Kia K3. While at the rear, the new Hyundai Elantra will feature license plate relocated at the rear bumper. Usually, the licensee or registration plates are situated at the center of the boot. Interior continues to be the same with an update to the infotainment system.
Under the hood of the upcoming Hyundai Elantra Facelift will be the SmartStream G 1.6 liter petrol mill and it will be matted with the SmartStream Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The new engine and transmission were debuted at the 2018 Kia K3 and it generates 123PS of power and 154Nm of twist. In accordance with this, the Elantra will also get the 1.4 litre to 2.0 litre petrol and diesel mills in the international market. Indian markets will continue with 1.6 diesel and 2.0 petrol motor and make the same horsepower. Expect variant, price and other tits bits to shuffle around to make a more appealing package for the audience once it comes to India mid next year.
