Hyundai Eon Sports Edition Introduced Silently to counter the Kwid and the Alto as the Eon continues to do mediocrely for the manufacturer

Hyundai has silently introduced a Sports Edition of the Eon hatchback in the country. Hyundai Eon Sports Edition will be available in the Era+ and Magna+ variants. Hyundai Eon Sports Edition will be only made available with the 800cc engine option. Hyundai has made changes in the interior as that has been the company’s strong point when it comes to the Eon.

To counter the Kwid which has this feature since day one of its launch, Hyundai also equips the Eon Sports Edition is a new 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with a phone link system, which means you can connect it through Bluetooth, AUX and USB. This AVN unit is connected to two speakers as well. Those speakers are located in the front doors.

Rest of the interior remains the same as it has been till date. The same black and beige interior and the same steering wheel are on offer. Exterior changes include new roof rails, side moulding and body graphics give it a bit of a SUV touch which its rival has. Eon facelift is on its way next year and this could hold things before the new one comes.


There are no mechanical changes to the 800cc 3-cylinder MPI petrol engine which continues makes 55 BHP of power and 74.5 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hyundai is also said to be working on the Santro come back, it will be interesting to see how the Eon Facelift and the new Santro come along and will help it boost sales in A segment category.
