Hero XPulse200 and XPulse200T are two products that are based on the Xtreme 200R platform
At the 2018 EICMA motorcycle event held earlier this month, Hero revealed its plan to launch two variants of Xpulse in India – the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T. And now, for the first time both the bikes have been spotted testing on Indian roads. The test mules appear to be in a production-ready form and have revealed what to expect from these upcoming models.
Just so you know, Xpulse 200 is a standard, adventure-focused model while the Xpulse 200T will target prospects looking for a comfortable, long-distance touring bike.
The testing 200T looked similar to the model that was on display in EICMA event. The bike got the same smoked windscreen, flat handlebar, and MRF Zapper (100/80-17) and MRF REVZ tyres (130/70-17) at front and rear respectively. The 200T was spotted in matte black and wine red colors which are similar to the shades we witnessed on the showcased bike.
At the event, Hero revealed that Xpulse 200T will feature 30 mm less ground clearance than Xpulse to aid riding comfort and come with large luggage plate for heavy loading capabilities. The Xpulse 200, on the other hand, will retain the character of a standard motorcycle and come with an upright stance and one-piece, flat saddle extending to the fuel-tank. The testing model of XPulse 200 was riding on Ceat Gripp Tyres that can also be seen on Royal Enfield Himalayan.
Both Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T will come powered by a 199.6 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine capable 18.4bhp along with 17.1Nm of max torque. The engine will get a 5-speed transmission and Hero is expected to tune the motor to extract maximum performance. The launch of the new models is expected to happen early next year and we guesstimate the prices to start from around Rs 1 lakh.
