India Manufactured Range Rover Velar Production is just for one top spec variant with two engine options to choose from
Jaguar Land Rover India, today announced the start of local manufacturing of Range Rover Velar. The Range Rover Velar will be available in 2.0 l Petrol (250 PS) and 2.0 l Diesel (180 PS) powertrains and priced at Rs. 72.47 Lakh (ex-showroom India).
Available in the R-Dynamic S derivative, the locally manufactured Range Rover Velar will be fully loaded with progressive design, technology and luxury features. Some of these features include Touch Pro Duo, Activity Key, Wi-Fi and Pro Services, Meridian Sound System (380W), Four-zone Climate Control, Cabin Air Ionisation, Premium Leather interiors, 50.8 cm (20) wheels with Full size spare wheel, R-Dynamic exterior pack, Adaptive Dynamics, Premium LED headlights with signature LED DRL, Park Assist etc.
The 25 variants have been cut down to just two. The prices have gone down by almost Rs 25-30 lakhs for the top spec variant. The locally manufactured SUV is now available in the top-spec variant only. Sadly, the options to choose are 2.0 litre petrol and diesel engines only. There are no V6 petrol or diesel engine options for now. We can expect straight six petrol hybrid engine entry next year around this time.
Diesel V6 could be introduced only on popular demand. Velar has turned out to be fantastic SUV for the manufacturer along with the Discovery which also is quite approachable and is the next in line to be locally manufactured. India Manufactured Range Rover Velar deliveries begin in May 2019. The bookings are open from today.
