Maruti Ertiga 1.5 Diesel Engine With 6-Speed Gearbox Launched is Maruti’s new engine developed in house delivering more power and torque than the 1.3 Multijet

Maruti Suzuki India today introduced powerful 1.5-litre DDIS 225 Diesel Engine with 6-speed manual transmission in the Next Gen Ertiga. The latest 1.5 Litre DDIS 225 4-cylinder diesel engine is developed in-house to deliver enhanced performance.

The new DDIS 225 engine delivers a peak torque of 225Nm @1500-2500rpm, maximum power of 70kW@ 4000rpm and a fuel efficiency of 24.20 km/l. The high efficiency turbo charger optimizes peak torque generation from a lower RPM (revolutions per minute).

The new DDIS 225 engine on Next Gen Ertiga uses‘Dual Mass flywheel’that helps to reduce engine fluctuations. The pendulum type engine mounting helps in refined NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) levels.

Maruti Suzuki’s Next Gen Ertiga is India’s best-selling MPV after the overpriced Toyota Innova. It is leader in the segment with 39% market share. Launched in November 2018, the stylish Next Gen Ertiga became an instant hit with customers selling over 40,000 units in Nov-April period. This reflects a growth of over 150% compared to same period last year. The Ldi variant was discontinued earlier last month and the new engine comes with these three new variants. The interior remains the same and so does the feature list which includes touch screen, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, electric ORVM, steering mounted controls, climate control and other features.
