There is no denying, that the Honda Activa 6G is on the cards. The test mule of next-generation Activa was spotted testing recently in India, but that wasn’t the Activa 6G it was the Activa 125 being tested. The new Honda Activa 6G BS6 will come with a host of cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. Honda Activa will add more features over the current list of things that are on offer such as LED lights and better suspension could make it to the scooter.
Honda Activa 6G BS6 will receive a new headlamp assembly and might possibly come with LED DRLs. Telescopic front suspension will remain intact and so will be the disc and drum brake set up for the front and rear respectively. In line with the new safety norms, Honda will offer a combined braking system (CBS) as a standard part of the equipment. Changes to the instrument cluster include a digital readout for trip meter and fuel meter while the rear section seems to have been carried over with minimal alterations.
Honda is expected to carry forward the same 110cc lay out but with air-cooled, fuel injected engine which puts around 7.95PS@7,500 RPM and 9Nm@5,500 RPM in the currently selling model of Activa. Having said that, the engine will be upgraded to meet stringent BS-VI emission norms as for now it is compliant with BS-IV only. Honda Activa 6G BS6 will continue with 10-inch wheels though Honda Activa 6G is likely to get alloy wheels as an option, for a premium feel. In terms of competition, the new Honda Activa 6G BS6 on its arrival will be pitted against the likes of TVS Jupiter, Hero Duet and Maestro Edge among others.
