Ford Ecosport Recalled to fix a suspension and seat issue that can be seen in a particular batch manufacturer of some cars. Period of the same are mentioned below
Ford India has voluntarily issued a recall of 4397 units of its compact SUV the EcoSport. These 4397 Ford EcoSports were manufactured between the month of May 2017 and June 2017. In this recall, Ford will be inspecting the weld integrity of the front lower control arm.
According to Ford India, the weld strength of these 4397 units of the EcoSport might be below the specifications of Ford. The low weld quality at the front lower control arm can affect the steering control of this Compact SUV.
In addition to this, the American car manufacturer has also announced that they are writing to 1018 Ford EcoSport customers for the inspection of the recliner for the driver and passenger side seats. These 1018 Ford EcoSports were manufactured between November 2017 and December 2017.
The recall for the May 2017 and June 2017 models for the inspection of the front lower control arms is for the pre-facelift EcoSport. While the recall concerning a potential problem of the seat recliner has affected the refreshed model of the Ford EcoSport.
Ford has been continuously working on improving and updating its compact SUV right after the facelift model was launched in the Indian market. These updates include the addition of new variants such as the Signature Edition and S trim, body kits and sunroof which are standard now in the new variants.
